Drink Driver Arrest

PS BAWDEN and PC PIKE from the Safer Neighbourhood Team have arrested a driver on suspicion of drink driving following a proactive vehicle stop in the local area. The driver provided a positive roadside breath test and was subsequently arrested and taken into custody for further enquiries.

Drink driving remains one of the Fatal Four road safety risks and significantly increases the likelihood of serious collisions, causing harm to drivers, passengers and other road users. We will continue to carry out proactive patrols and enforcement activity to identify those who choose to drive whilst impaired.

We would encourage anyone who suspects a person is driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs to report it to police. In an emergency, or where there is an immediate risk to public safety, call 999.
